Leading a division in an independent school is a crucial, complex, high-stakes role. Division Heads are constantly making decisions about students, faculty, parents, and school-wide initiatives—often with limited opportunities to collaborate with peers who truly understand their challenges.

Dynamic Dialogue Groups offer a structured space for Division Heads to:

  • Build a strong professional network for long-term career growth and support.

Levels of Engagement

  • Monthly Virtual Sessions

    Ten 60-minute online meetings per year.

  • Slack Channel for Ongoing Support

    A dedicated space for sharing resources, asking questions, and continuing conversations between sessions.

  • Optional 1:1 Coaching – Personalized coaching to deepen insights and apply strategies tailored to individual challenges. (Additional)

About Your Facilitator

Mike Walker Ed.D.

I have learned a lot in my thirty plus years of leadership in seven independent schools. I have been a teacher, coach, division head, and head of school. 

I understand the various leadership roles' challenges, joys, and interpersonal dynamics.  Some of my most significant learning and closest relationships have been in cohort groups, which motivates me to offer the Dynamic Dialogue Groups for division heads. 

I am now an executive/leadership coach, working with educational and business leaders. I am part of the NAIS Coaches’ Collaborative and am certified through the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute.  My doctoral research focused on the neuroscience of decision-making, which now informs my coaching.
